My work for constituents
Over the last year, my team and I have helped thousands of people from across Eastbourne with their questions and queries. There are lots of ways you can get in touch:
- Email me – my inbox receives hundreds of emails every week from people across Eastbourne. You can email me via josh.babarinde.mp@parliament.uk.
- Write to me – Send me a letter to 100 Seaside Road, Eastbourne – and I’ll get to work!
- Call in – My office telephone line is 01323 733030.
- Swing by my office – My office is usually open for drop ins every weekday from 1000-1200 for you to speak with a member of my team. Outside these hours, we have booked appointments to crack on with taking up residents’ cases. We may not be able to provide an immediate solution, but we’re certainly happy to chat and plot next steps.
- Attend a surgery – I offer a range of surgery sessions – both in person (in the Beacon, Langney Shopping Centre, supermarkets and more) and online. Reach out to us for a chat, and we can work out the best route of action.
What I can do for you
The team and I can only respond to enquiries from people living within the parliamentary constituency of Eastbourne. You double check if I’m your MP here Find your MP – MPs and Lords – UK Parliament
My team and I can’t help with everything, however much we’d like to! Some issues – including bins, parking and local planning – are within local government’s remit. We also can’t support live legal cases or provide immigration or legal advice – but we’ll try our best to connect you with others wherever possible.
Take a look at parliament’s useful page – Who should I contact with my issue? – UK Parliament – to see whether or not I’m best-placed to help.
I have to prioritise the most urgent enquiries that come my way (some are literally life or death, where someone’s healthcare, housing situation and deportation is imminently on the line), so I may not always be able to respond to less urgent enquiries as quickly.
How support from my office works
My team and I will provide a confidential space to hear your concerns or ideas. We’ll provide advice and support around the issues we can assist with, and will help you find support from others where we can’t. We will do as much as we can to work with you on finding a resolution to your case.
In return, we appreciate respect and honesty. Please keep us up to speed with all the relevant information relating to your case, and please let us know if you need to cancel an appointment. We won’t ever accept aggression, abuse or harassment.
We also follow the security guidance that we receive from our security colleagues in Parliament. We’ll share details about these measures ahead of time, and offer alternative ways of meeting with Josh if you do not wish to proceed.
Other support
My team and I are one of the many forms of support out there. Please also review whether the following services could assist you:
